Cegin y Bobl is a charity on a mission to get more people cooking. We're recruiting volunteers to support our chefs deliver a six week Home Cookery Courses from January. Inspire your community to find confidence and joy in the kitchen
Your role will be to help with prep, cooking, clear-up and supporting our participants to develop their cooking skills and have fun. It's a great opportunity to learn new skills from a pro chef and share your love of cooking.
VOLUNTEER ROLE
Location: Antioch Centre, Llanelli
Dates: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays, 6th Jan - 12th Feb
Shift hours: 9-3pm (for volunteer and chef)
Session time: 10-2pm (for participants)
Team size: 1 chef + 1 volunteer
Participant group size - 10 max
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Kitchen & ingredient prep
- Cooking
- Being a friendly face and helping hand for course participants
- Clean-up
OPPORTUNITY
- Work closely with one of our professional chefs to learn how they share cookery skills with the community.
- Be part of an inspiring course which guides participants towards confidence and joy in the kitchen.
- Gain a Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate
- All travel expenses reimbursed
- Have a taste of the delicious food prepared on the course
About our Home Cookery Courses
Cegin y Bobl runs Home Cookery courses for everyone—from food bank users to parents and community groups. The aim? Build confidence to cook healthy, tasty food from scratch, without breaking the bank. Courses cover cooking with basics, meal planning, budgeting, and reducing food waste. People leave with new skills, fresh motivation, and a whole new outlook on food.
