Join us on Sunday for our first community firewalk. Together we'll learn how to safely walk across hot coals in an experience that many describe as transformative. We're raising funds for families living with a life-limiting illness so we ask firewalkers to collect a minimum of £175 in sponsorship. Friends, family, spectators and supporters are very welcome, free of charge. Refreshments available throughout.
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is a firewalk?
After an hour of preparation with our expert instructor, Stephen Morgan, founder of Firewalk Cymru (and hospice team volunteer), you’ll walk barefoot across carefully prepared embers glowing at around 650°C. Each person walks at their own pace, supported by trained professionals.
Is it safe?
While any activity involving fire carries inherent risks, our experienced team follows strict safety protocols. Your well-being will be our priority, and you’ll receive thorough training and support throughout.
Do I need to prepare?
You’ll walk barefoot across the coals, but no special preparation of your feet is needed. The training session beforehand provides everything you need to know, with no additional mental exercises or physical preparation required.
Sponsorship
To secure your place, we ask for a minimum sponsorship of £175. This helps ensure that we can reach our fundraising target while covering event costs. To collect sponsorship from friends and family, please set up a fundraising page linked to our event on JustGiving.
