Tara is a PhD student at University of Wales Trinity Saint David and is exploring how digital technologies can support nature connection at a community green health hub in Wales. Tara has a Master’s degree in Outdoor Education and has been providing wellbeing sessions in nature to re-engage vulnerable community groups with their local woodlands across Wales since 2017. She also trains and mentors professionals in the use of quality bushcraft skills for one of the UK’s leading specialist bushcraft training providers. Her skills and passion to transform community wellbeing infuse well into the creative methodology she uses in the PhD. She is using action research to engage and learn from the perspectives of local people in need of wellbeing support, as well as to mentor outdoor leaders to collaboratively consider digital technologies in this context.
