How to make a request

It’s a lovely and curious fact that more timebank members offer their time than ask for it. But if you have earnt some credits, don't be afraid to send requests for things you need help with! Here are some examples of things people have requested in the timebank.

Help with computers

Do you need a helping hand with using your computer, ipad or smart phone? Perhaps you need someone to explain how Apps work and how to set up and email account? Whatever it is, you can be sure that someone in the timebank will have the skills and should be able to offer support.

Looking after pets

Are you going away and need someone to look after your pets at home? Perhaps you have a health condition and are struggling to walk, clean out or take care of your beloved animals? You might need someone to come and clean out the rabbit hutch once a week or pick up some hay. Whatever it is, why not ask for help in the timebank.

Gardening

Are the weeds beginning to take over in your garden? Are you struggling to find the time to cut the grass and dig the borders? Perhaps you'd simply like some advice from someone who knows about planting? Remember you can search for members based on their interest in 'gardening' and ask them to look at your request.

Sewing/Mask making

Maybe you need someone to help with making things? Sewing masks? Since the pandemic, many people have been getting involved in making masks and scrubs for people in need.

What help do you need?

If you have some credits to spend, don't be afraid to ask for help in the timebank. You can also spend your credits on offers made by other members. Look at the offers.

  • Do - follow the current goverment guidelines for COVID-19
  • Do - say thanks and complete the exchnage to ensure that someone helping you recieves their credits
  • Don't - ask anyone to do a task which you might usually ask a professional person to carry out
  • Don't - ask anyone to do a task which may put them or the person/group they are helping at risk (for example: childcare)
  • Don't - undertake any aspect of helping anyone if you feel uncomfortable in doing so.
  • Don't put anyone at risk of COVID-19
