Llandysul community wellbeing drop in 07/12/23

There were 24 exhibitors with 35 representatives and 28 citizens attended.  We are extremely pleased by this number especially given how terrible the weather was.

The representatives from DWP JCP will now recommend that a business case is put forward so that customer’s appointments are made for them to attend the drop ins in Llandysul instead of travelling to Carmarthen or Cardigan.

  • A lot of families have been impacted by a diagnosis of a terminal illness and wanted to know more about support available – Marie Curie
  • Accessing domestic abuse support in the farming community – CARMDAS
  • Support & Social Isolation – Woody’s Lodge
  • Benefits claims, transport & employment opportunities – DWP – Carmarthen JCP
  • Lack of knowing support in their area – Threshold DAS

   

Example of how you helped a citizen today:

Provided harm reduction advice regarding substances – explained how to refer to DDAS – Choices

Offered training to several individuals – Papyrus

Provided information for a person’s loved one to joint pain management programme – Hywel Dda – Be Well Service

Explaining how to be eligible for a food parcel and how to find us – Banc Bwyd Llandysul Food Bank

Gave details of the upcoming 8 weeks of wellbeing course (Neuadd Tysul Hall – Llandysul) – Mind

Details passed on as a lady living alone and neighbour support passed away – Delta Wellbeing

Providing information how we can support the veteran and their family and offering drop in events – Woody’s Lodge

Signposted to a befriending service – Carers Trust West Wales
